SP Balu poses question to film biggies

SP Balasubrahmanyam has posed an inconvenient question to biggies in those film industries where there is a proposal to ban dubbed movies. Saying that, better movies have to be made if possible, but good movies from other languages should never been obviated from being dubbed, SPB said that dubbing is a great process.

Speaking at the launch of a research-oriented book on dubbing into Telugu, SPB said he had debuted as a dubbing artiste with the film Manmatha Leela on the prodding of music director Chakravarthi. He also recalled how the legendary Shivaji Ganesan endeared himself to the Telugu audience through the voices of Dasaratha Ramayya, KVS Sharma and Jaggayya. "Dubbing is a great art. It shouldn't be looked down upon," he added.

The event was attended by Vennelakanti, Guruva Reddy, and Paidipala (the author), among others.
