Charging that music is being given step-motherly treatment by producers.
Bharadwaj says, 'A lot of newcomers get chances not on the basis of merit. To cut costs, producers opt for newcomers. Eventually they compromise on quality'
He is of the opinion that the current trend in the contemporary music industry is not healthy. He says, 'The packaging is attractive but creativity is lost. Unless music composers come out with creative ideas, the future looks bleak'.
Currently busy with movies including Pallikoodam and Manjal Veyyil, Bharadwaj says, ' There should be traces of Tamil culture and sounds in film music. Lyrics should be given prominence'.
After floating an audio company, Bharadwaj has plans to start a music school called Bharadwaj School of Music beginning July 2007 to teach on how to sing for films and stage shows.
