After a stupendous hit in Chithiram Pesuthadi, director Mysskin became very popular and several production houses urged him to do a movie for them.
Though Chithiram Pesuthadi received rave reviews for its screenplay and good cast, the Vala Meenukum song set to tunes by music director Sundar C babu and sung by Gana Ulaganathan was considered one of the major highlights that ensured the movie's success at the box office. Mysskin had thanked Sundar C Babu for his good work in the movie.
However for his next to be produced by A M Rathinam featuring his son Ravikrishna, Mysskin had opted for Ilayaraja.
Sources close to the director, say, 'He was a great admirer of Ilayaraja's work and more over the movie's storyline is different from the original. Myskkin feels that Raja alone can render justice to it'.
