If Railway Department launches a new train service between Kodambakkam and Ramoji Rao Film City, the train will be full through out the week. Such is the demand to shoot Tamil movies in the Film City located in Hyderabad.
Since most of the studios in Chennai are occupied by the producers of TV serials and various other TV programmes, the big screen operators have to go to Hyderabad.
A leading Tamil producer has decided to change this scenario. He wants to build a studio like Ramoji Rao studio in Chennai and hence he has been in search of a place.
Finally he decided to take the government owned Film City for 99 years lease. He has duly submitted an application to the government.
Since the producer belongs to a reputed production house that commands respect cutting across the political lines, the proposal is likely to be accepted by the government, inform some reliable sources.
If it materializes, the constant shuttling between Kodambakkam and Hyderabad would come to an end.
