Director Shankar's home production Imsai Arasan 23am Pulikesi has been censored. This hilarious historical movie featuring Vadivelu in the lead role has been given an 'U' certificate.
Supposedly a laughathon, Imsai has been cleared by the censor officials without any cuts on Saturday.
Vadivelu, who plays a dual role in the movie says, 'It is no joke to do a historical film with grand costumes and mouthing the long dialogues. It was more than a challeng But I relished every minute of it.'
According to producer Shankar, 'it is after 28 years that a Tamil movie would revolve around the happenings of a historical period - the King and the Queen era.'
Popular personalities including Nagesh, Manorama, Nasser, Vennira Adai Moorthy, Sriman and Ilavarasu are in the cast.
Imsai is being directed by a cartoonist-turned-director Simbudevan.
