G Srinivasan, brother of ace director of Tamil cinema Mani Ratnam, died in a mishap on Sunday.
The younger sibling of Mani Ratnam was trekking at Manali when he slipped and fell on the ground from a height and sustained head injuries. He was rushed to hospital, where he was declared dead. He is survived by two daughters. He has been part of Mani Ratnam's Madras Talkies and co-produced several movies with Mani Ratnam.
Mani Ratnam, who had been to Cannes Film festival last week, is presently camping in Spain. He has been informed of Srinivasan's death and is returning to Chennai.
It may be recalled that during the month of May a few years ago, Mani Ratnam's elder brother G Venkateswaran (GV) died after committing suicide.
