Premji: Acting Vs Music

by mymazaa.com

Premji Amaran, the musician cum actor, is clear on what he should be. The man, who came to limelight with his impressive performance in a satirical role in "Chennai 600028", is getting many offers to act. Surprisingly, he is not accepting them, as he is more interested in music.

Premji, who is remembered by the famous 'punch' dialogue 'Enna Koduma Sir Ithu', started his career as an actor in Silambarasan's "Vallavan". He acted as the friend of Nayantara. He proved himself as a comedy actor in "Chennai 600028". Then the offers started coming his way. He is doing comedy roles in the films in "Kettavan" and "Sathyam". He is also doing a pivotal role in his brother's second venture "Saroja" after the great success of "Chennai 600028".

Though Premji has established himself as a promising comedy actor with his great sense of timing and effective body language, he is not interested in pursuing his career as an actor. Instead, he wants to concentrate more on music and hence he is turning down the offers to act.

Music is the first love for Premji, who was working with Yuvan Shankar Raja as a keyboard programmer. First he did the remix of Yuvan's 'Loosu Penne' from the film "Vallavan". Then he composed the original sound track for two songs in "Chennai 600028". He has worked as a full fledged music director for the films "Gnabagam Varuthey" and yet to be released "Thozha". He is also doing music for a Kannada film.

Apart from film music, he is also trying his hand in other genres in music field. He has composed music for an episode titled Planet Galatta II - Adra Sakkae in Singapore satellite channel (the songs are available in raaga.com).
