Among directors waiting for the call-sheet of prominent actors to be part of their films, director Ameer seems to think otherwise.
Says Ameer, "If movies featuring big stars are assured of a success at the box office, then almost all the movies in Tamil film industry should go on to become blockbusters. But it is not the case."
He opines that story and screenplay are the real heroes and if narrated properly, movies featuring newcomers would also do well.
Ameer is busy giving final touches to his Paruthi Veeran, slated for a release this January.
Says Ameer, "My 'Raam' had a different theme and storyline. Hence it not just won critical acclaim but also collected good revenue."
Asked about Paruthi Veeran, Ameer says, "It is a movie that would take the audience to the heart of the country, the villages. Over 60 artistes are introduced in the movie and everyone has given their best output. Yuvan's earthy musical score and Ramji's sleek work behind the camera are the other highlights."
Suriya's sibling Karthi plays the hero in this film while Priya Mani is cast as his ladylove. Yesteryear hero Saravanan makes his comeback with the movie.
