Rumors spread thick and fast on Monday evening that popular Tamil and Malayalam actress Urvashi had attempted suicide. Several anxious calls were made to Urvashi's residence in Chennai.
As it happened, it turned out to be a mere rumor and the actress was only down with chickungunya.
Manoj K Jayan, a popular actor and Urvashi's husband, said, 'My wife and I had a hearty laugh at the rumor which spread like a wild fire. She was down with chickungunya and could not attend a public function in Chennai, which she had accepted to attend earlier. Few rumor-mongers took the opportunity and spread such wild news. I can only sympathize with them. She is hale and hearty'.
Urvashi has returned from Kerala and when her feet became swollen, she was immediately taken to the hospital.
