After tasting success by re-releasing the yesteryear classic of MGR Nadodi Mannan, Divya Films are now planning to go a step further.
The film house is now planning to re-release Sivaji Ganesan's blockbuster Uthama Puthiran.
Interestingly after almost three decades film buffs witnessed the release of a historical film Imsai Arasan starring Vadivelu. Its good run resulted in MGR's Nadodi Mannan hitting the screens.
Now a good response for Nadodi Mannan has paved way for Sivaji Ganesan's Uthama Puthiran release.
Quite interestingly, the storyline of Imsai Arasan is almost the same as that of Uthama Puthiran. The movie features Sivaji Ganesan, Padmini, Nambiar, Thangavelu, Ragini and Kannambaal. The music is by G Ramanathan and direction by Prakash Rao.
Uthama Puthiran, released in 1958, is adapted from Alexander Dumas The Man in the Iron Mask. It has good performances, melodious music, and an engaging screenplay and is hugely entertaining.
Looks like historical are making history in present.
