Vaanam which is based on the complex combination of five stories meeting at one point has been certified by the Regional Censor Board in Chennai yesterday (April 24).
Vaanam has been awarded with an 'UA' certificate, with voice muting in few scenes.
Censor Board Officials who had a chance of watching Vaanam showered praises for the film. During the censor activity is getting done, Vaanam star Silambarasan too watched the film the Censor officials. STR says “All the members who watched the film congratulated me for my performance and lady members too were very happy for me for doing Vaanam”.
Vaanam is the remake of 2010 critically acclaimed film Vedam which is written and directed by Krish. Kannan and Giri have written the dialogues for the film. Vaanam will feature an ensemble cast, including Silambarasan, Bharath, Anushka, Prakash Raj and Saranya, Sonia, Vega, Santhanam, Jasmine, Jayaprakash, Radha Ravi and others.
Cinematography and editing are handled by Nirav Shah and Anthony respectively while music is scored by Yuvan Shankar Raja. VTV Productions and Magic Box pictures have produced the film while Cloud Nine holds the distribution rights.
