Soon after the release of his blockbuster Srimanthudu, Mahesh Babu announced that he will adopt Burripalem, his native village in Guntur. Needless to say, fans and common people hailed Mahesh's noble decision.
However, Mahesh got busy again with brahmotsavam and nothing was heard from him about his development plans for Burripalem even though a year passed by. Many started to express their dissent openly on Mahesh's delay on his promise.
Finally, Mahesh finally visited Burripalem along with his brother-in-law and Guntur MP Jayadev Galla a couple of months ago and vowed to give the village a total makeover. And the latest news is that developmental works have begun in Burripalem.
Mahesh posted a couple of photographs on his official Facebook page and said, "Drain work started in Burripalem :) One more big step forward.. Thank you Jayadev Galla for supporting us unconditionally.." This is certainly good news and let's hope that Burripalem will soon turn into a smart village thanks to Mahesh.
