Saurav Chakrabarthi's role as a sharpshooter in Ram Charan's Telugu thriller "Dhruva" has made him a recognizable face. He says this has come as a blessing and he wants to prove his mettle with equally good roles.

"I am Mumbai-based and people have started recognizing me in gyms and malls. The other day, I was working out, and one guy walked up to me and recognized me by my character's name in 'Dhruva'. People have recognized my face but they don't know me by my name yet," Saurav told IANS.

While "Dhruva" marked his Telugu debut, Saurav has also been part of "Baaghi", and a film each in Tamil and Kannada.

Describing the experience of working in "Dhruva" as memorable, he said: "People in the Telugu film industry are so professional. Director Surender Reddy, for instance, worked with a lot of patience, knowing I was new and was facing difficulty with the language."

In the film, he played a character who works with Arvind Swamy. Saurav can't stop gushing about the "Roja" actor.

"He's so friendly. He let me record video message from him for my friends. Ram Charan is very friendly too. It's people around him who make you feel like he's a star and won't easily get along. It's just a myth because he voluntarily came and introduced himself to me," he said.

A huge fan of Ram Charan's "Magadheera", Saurav wants to play a larger-than-life character in an S.S. Rajamouli film.

"I badly want to be part of Rajamouli's film. I hope I get to play something epic in his film. I love action and I would love to do something extensive in it. I'm also learning Telugu, so I hope to get more opportunities where I can prove my versatility," he said.

Saurav is also part of Bengali filmdom and his latest release "Amar Prem" is currently running in cinemas.
