'Mutyala Muggu' Sridhar dies of cardiac arrest

Senior film artiste Sridhar, who made his debut through 'Mutyala Muggu' in 1975 under the direction of Bapu, died of cardiac arrest at 11.40 am in Apollo Hospital, Film Nagar, in Hyderabad on July 11.

He is 68 and is survived by his wife and three daughters. He was born in Kummamuru in Krishna district. Sridhar was ailing for the past few days and was admitted to the hospital some 10 days ago.

Sridhar proved himself as a versatile artiste by playing hero, villain and several other supporting characters in over 150 films.

His roles in Bommarillu, Adavi Ramudu, Justice Choudary, Eenadu, Karunamayudu, Seethamalakshmi, Yashoda Krishna won him critical acclaim. Though not very handsome, Sridhar had maintained a charisma of his own and showed the versatility in portraying the characters.

He has a long association with the Telugu film industry. The Telugu film industry lost an experienced artiste who could portray any positive or negative character with equal ease.
