Rashmi Gautham may have given the promotions a miss, she may have accused the director of misleadingly using a sensuous song in the trailer, the makers may not have failed to convey the film's subject, the audience may have gone to the theatres expecting something which they never got, but 'Antham' has admittedly set a record on day one.
Producer GSSP Kalyan says, "Our film released in about 300 theatres across AP, Telangana and Karnataka on the Ramzan day. At a time when independent films don't even have the fortune to get released, 'Antham' has collected a gross of Rs. 1.26 cr on day one. We sold the film at a reasonable price to the distributors, who are now very happy. They are going to have a break-even by the end of second day."
Even though the lead pair, Charan Deep and Rashmi, have not promoted the film, the producer mentioned Rashmi's name in the statement issued. "As this is the first film to after 'Guntur Talkies' in which Rashmi Gautham has acted, it has acquired this craze," he said.
