Gopi Review

by MyMazaa.com

One can be choosy but should not have pickle-mindedness and should not go for a better one always as it may lead to troubles at times. Writer-turned-director Janardhana Maharshi chose to portray this typical mentality of a person in his debut venture and it helped him to prove himself in giving a perfect characterization to the hero and Naresh, who could do comedy with elan did complete justice to his role. In order to give a logical conclusion on the repercussions, the director added a flavor of mafia. The film had good twists. Though appeared in a couple of scenes, Jagapati Babu's special appearance was totally justified.

Gopi (Allari Naresh) is the son of a nice couple (Tanikella Bharani and Hema). He keeps changing his mind and leaves the one which he has on hand if he gets a better one. In order to set him right from his pickle minded personality, they wanted to get him married. But Gopi unable to choose any girl. Once he meets Lakshmi (Gowri Munjal) in the pellichoopulu of his friend Balu (Ali). He spoils the alliance, but he goes to their house later to reveal his intention to marry that beautiful girl. Luckily he gets a good job in Bangalore, for which he had to attend an interview just two days before the marriage date. He convinces Lakshmi that he would return by the same evening and leaves for Bangalore. Incidentally there will be some blasts by some terrorists and all the transport facilities get blocked. Somehow, he manages the things and gets the car of his would be boss and returns to Hyderabad. In his return journey he comes across another beautiful girl called Priya (Arthi Chabria). Looking at this stunning beauty, Gopi decides to ignore Lakshmi and shifts his mind towards Priya. A CBI officer Balwinder Chadda (Jagapati Babu) gets into action and arrests the kingpin Abu Gulam (Vinodkumar). Later, Chadda chalks out a plan to catch the right hand of Abu Gulam, who was behind the blasts called Monica. In fact, it is Monica who introduced herself as Priya to Gopi. The manager of a resort (Sunil) and another friend (Venumadhav) of Gopi identify Priya as Monica but could not reveal it. While Gopi and Priya/Monica were about to reach Hyderabad, Chadda stops them and catches Monica as well. So Gopi returns to the venue of his marriage. After getting a thorough dressing down by his parents Gopi realizes his mistake and marries Lakshmi. The film ends on a happy note.

The film has comedy all through the film. It is quite hilarious right from the beginning till the end. The director etched the lead character 'Gopi' well. Arthi Chabria fit the slot perfectly and action scenes involving her were also shot well. Her glamorous and the negative touch to the character also suited well. Naresh showed good ease in dances. Gowri Munjal is okay. It is unnecessary to keep the fantasy scenes in the film but to evoke a little laughter. Suresh looked odd in the attire of Lord Vishnu. Even his voice failed to suit the character. Jagapatibabu's character is good but the laugh by him at times sounded odd. The climax is not convincing. Okay film for time pass.
