Traffic Signal in January

After making you visit the board rooms in 'Corporate' early this years, Madhur Bhandarkar has different plans next year. Come January and he has plans to make you visit a 'TRAFFIC SIGNAL' and look at the lives of people living their life there. Earlier there were indications that his Kunal Khemu - Neetu Chandra starrer 'Traffic Signal' would be coming before the year ends but the latest confirmation has come just from the horse's mouth. Madhur says, "There was nothing fixed as such regarding December being confirmed. And now it has been decided that the film will be coming in the first week of January. The promotion of the film would begin in November end". 'Traffic Signal' also stars Konkana Sen, Upendra Limaye, Ranveery Shourey and Sudhir Misra in principal roles.

TRAFFIC SIGNAL clashes with BHAGAM BHAG's 'SIGNAL'

It seems Madhur Bhandarkar's TRAFFIC SIGNAL has an unlikely competition from a 'signal' of another kind. And this time around, the reference is towards 'Signal', the hit opening number of BHAGAM BHAG which has turned out to be a comfortable hit at he box office. Now after doing good business at the box office (and still counting), the film is all set to arrive on original DVDs and VCDs at the stands on February 3rd. Call it coincidence, but Madhur's TRAFFIC SIGNAL releases at theatres just a day earlier i.e. February 2nd. Starring Kunal Khemu, Neetu Chandra, Konkana Sen, Ranvir Shorey, Upendra Limaye and Sudhir Mishra in pivotal roles, TRAFFIC SIGNAL is carrying good reports already and enjoys a sole release status that is bound to work to its advantage.

Green light for Traffic Signal as it arrives solo

It couldn't have been better for Madhur Bhandarkar's 'Traffic Signal'. After postponing its release from late 2006 to early 2007, it kept reconsidering the right release timing for itself and after thinking of January as an option, it settled for February 02. Though it was still a little risky since it was supposed to come only a week after 'Salaam E Ishq' and had 'Red' as the other release coinciding with it, it was a risk that Bhandarkar was willing to take. Seems that risk has after all paid for Bhandarkar as 'Traffic Signal' would now be enjoying its status as the sole release of the week with 'Red' postponing to February 23rd. Moreover, even February 09 has two relatively low budget films releasing in the form of 'Black Friday' and 'Undertrial', each of which have their own target audience and hence won't be clashing with 'Traffic Signal'. All eyes are now set on this dark comedy by Madhur Bhandarkar to arrive on the big screen and make an impression as a third in his Mumbai-based trilogy after 'Page 3' and 'Corporate'.
