'Bhagyalakshmi Bumper Draw' is yet another remake in Telugu from Bollywood flick 'Malamaal Weekly'. As popular writer LB Sriram, who almost stopped writing these days and took to acting, once again convinced to pen dialogues for this film by the director Nidhi Prasad. With all his expertise, LB Sriram made the story quite convincing to suit the Telugu nativity and at the same time helped the director by giving a fantastic screenplay to run the film. Undoubtedly, the film was proved to be a wholesome entertainer. Though the director tried to give a message through the film that one should not put himself forward for unexpected or unwanted gains, the film failed to convey the message as the audiences continue to enjoy the comedy in the film and the message was told only in the climax.
Bullabbai (Rajendra Prasad) sells lottery tickets in a village. His regular customers are Mallika Sherabath Tea stall owner Mallika (Bhuvaneswari), Yesudas (Ali) Pala Pullayya (Tanikella Bharani) and Varadarajulu (MS Narayana). Once Bullabbayi finds that a lucky guy had purchased a lottery ticket from him, which gained Rs 1 crore. To trace the lucky man, Bullabbai throws a dinner to all his customers by putting his house in mortgage. Finally, he understands that Yesudas had not come for the dinner and the ticket was with him.
On the other hand, Srinu (Rishi) works with Pullayya because Srinu's father Varadaraju (MS Narayana) owed money to the latter. Srinu and Pullayya's daughter Bhagyalakshmi (Farjana) are in love. Meanwhile, the richest woman and banker in the village Ranikasula Renuka Rani (Kiran Rathod) wanted her brother Minor Babu (Venumadhav) to get married to Bhagyalakshmi. Pullayya has no chance but to accept her word as he owed her some money.
Bullabbai goes to Yesudas' house and notices that he is dead and tries to snatch the ticket from him but he could not. Pullayya comes to the place and alleges that Bullabbai killed him. Bullabbai decides to share the prize money with Pullayya. While both of them trying to conceal the body, Srinu notices them and both of them vows him a share. Before his death, Yesudas calls up an officer from the lottery office (Nagababu), his brother Jashua (Brahmanandam), his lover cum wife Parvathi (Abhinyasri) and the entire village that he won the lottery and this forces Bullabbai, Pullayya and Srinu to share the prize money equally among all the villagers.
When the officer visits the village, the villagers present Jashua as Yesudas and manage to get the prize money. However Ranikasula Renuka Rani set to reveal the secret to the officer. But accidentally she dies and the film ends on a happy note with the union of Srinu and Bhagyalakshmi.
Almost all the comedians in the Telugu cinema were involved in this film. As a result, the film automatically turned into a comedy flick sans any effort. Both the screenplay and dialogues penned by LB Sriram are good. Though the heroine is homely, she did not hide her sex appeal. Especially in 'Bigi Kaugillo' song, the romantic scenes were sizzling. Though there is nothing special to mention, those who sit in the theatre could forget themselves all through the film. After the film is over, there is nothing to discuss about the film.
