10:30 Am Local Call Review

Story:

Alby (nishan) is having a good life and is happily married to Ann (mridula). He also has good friends in the form of a cop Thomas (krishna), politician Jaishankar (anoop), businessman Vasu (manuraj). The story takes a turn when Alby is contacted by his old flame in college Nimmy (sritha). She dumps him in college but now she is in trouble as she is deserted by her husband Vishnu (kailash) due to him suspecting her. Alby takes Nimmy to a place for her safety but when he wakes up the next morning he finds her dead in his room. What happens after that forms the rest of the story.

Presentation:

The director has come up with an interesting storyline and while the presentation was effective, the narrative was good in parts. The dialogues were alright. The script was above average and the screenplay was useful. The background score was haunting and all songs were melodious. Cinematography was masterly. Editing was required in few places during second half. Costumes were well designed while the art department was rich. Nishan has given a very good performance and shows varied emotions, Mridula looks naturally cute and she performs well. Lal was impact creating, Sritha was sensuous, Krishna was neat, Anoop Chandran was apt, Manuraj was moderate. The others didn’t have scope.

Conclusion:

Choosing a thriller genre means it has to be a mix of efficient cast, tight screenplay and above all a very good plot. In this film, the team seems to be successful in engaging the viewers during the first half. The second half had few jerks but still it was balanced well to take it to an interesting climax. The film scores due to the technical values and the performances mostly. Overall, this is a film which works well with all genres of audience and at the box office this would be a profitable venture.
