Story:
The film is about a debt-ridden film producer and how he realizes his dream of making a good film. Movie Review: K K Haridas's Josettante Hero is a well-intended but badly plotted and executed film. The story of the film is built around a film-producer who wants to make a good film in spite of his debts. He uses a low-end phone, drives a creaky old car, has a bad-tempered wife, a big house and a beautiful daughter. The scenes and sequences are devoid of the sympathy which the film demands for the character.
The viewer does not feel for Jose because there are too many crude attempts at action and humour. Suraj Venjaramoodu goes overboard in what is supposed to be the most 'humorous' scenes in the film. Laughter also stays aloof even as Saajan (Anoop Menon) handles the oft-repeated comic trick of generating humour when the character innocently falters by messing up his dialogues. Josettante Hero openly declares that the industry is not just about super heroes but also about good films made on low-budget. However, in the process, it betrays its purpose. It shows how a film, no matter how nicely conceived, can run out of control for want of craft. Ashokan, who plays superstar Ravi Prakash, Vijayaraghavan and Anoop Menon still stand apart in an otherwise forgettable film.
