Maad Daad Review

Story:

An immature tale the story begins with Easow (lal) who misses his dead wife Anuradha (meghana) and still feels her presence. He goes through depression but comes out and starts living with his daughter Maria (nasriya) who studies abroad. Easow never objects to Maria’s lifestyle and one day she brings her boyfriend Boney (sreejith vijay) and reveals her love matter. However, Easow discovers Boney is the son of Soda Mathen (lalu alex) and this puts him into psychosis. What happens after that forms the rest of the story.

Presentation:

The director has come up with a supposedly thoughtful storyline and while the presentation was good, the narrative was very bad. The dialogues were silly. The script was below average and the screenplay was inconsistent. The background score was alright and only one song was worth. Cinematography was the best among the lot. Editing should have been much sharper. Costumes were decent and suited the moods while the art department was having some weight. Lal’s character was not etched rightly so he could not deliver. Same with Meghana Raj. Nasriya was sweet. Lalu Alex brought few smiles though. The others didn’t have much to offer.

Conclusion:

It is a good attempt to take up a serious issue and present it in a humorous way but such things require great skills in direction and deft handling of the screenplay. This was missing completely from the film. The first half goes about with the introduction of characters and the layering of the plot. The interval bang was alright but the second half gets into a lot of confusion. Overall, this is a film which didn’t have a proper platform and direction. At the box office, this will fizzle out.
