by MyMazaa.com

Story:

Anegan begins with 1962 love story of Murugappa [Dhanush] and Samuthra [Amyra Dastur], which ended in pain. Then comes present generation stars Ashwin and Madhu, employees of a leading video games developing company. Madhu keeps visualizing her imagine characters [Kaali and his love Kalyani, an orthodox Brahmin girl. Story set in Vyasarpadi during 1987] and others including Ashwin believes her to be hallucinating. Suprises are part and they get to know that Madhu's imaginary characters have once lived in this world. Watch Anegan to see, how well KV Anand has tied the three unraveled stories.

Performances:

Dhanush excels with his performance in every other role. Be it be Murugappa or Ashwin or Kaali, he has given mind-blowing performance. Kaali was the pic-of-the-lot for many, his dialogue delivery and variations have done the rest.

Amyra Dastur does her roles with utmost perfection including the lip sync for Tamil dialogues. There couldn't be a perfect debut for Amyra, not all the actresses get scope for performance in their first film and she surpassed with a smile.

Karthik looks convincingly perfect in his role. As a gaming company CEO with fluent American accent, he has lived the role. A perfect comeback.

Though short, Ashish Vidyarthi and Mukesh Tiwari's roles have their impact in the movie.

Technical Analysis:

KV Anand has to be appreciated for coming up with such a choosy story line and kudos to writers duo Suba for coming up with such a neatly presented screenplay and dialogues. Dhanush and Amyra Dastur are perfect choices, thanks to KV Anand's experience.

Harris Jayaraj in great form, both songs and background score elevates the movie. 'Dangamaari' song is thoroughly celebrated and every track takes the movie forward.

Cinematography is the backbone of Anegan and Om Prakash, the man behind lens has shot every frame to perfection. Songs are colourful and visual treat.

Anthony has played a crucial role. His editing is crisp and hooked audiences to edge of their seats in many parts. The minute links between the songs and picture are well maintained.

AGS Entertainments have lavishly produced Anegan and it comes as surprise that this visual extravaganza is made with only Rs.40 Cr budget.

Analysis:

KV Anand's Anegan or a Dhanush starrer is not a one man show, but showcases the collective effort of each of the cast and crew in every frame. Kudos for the idea, kudos for variations, kudos for screenplay and dialogues, kudos for presentation, music, editing and what not.

Anegan stands top for painstaking efforts, still falls flat because of the confusion caused due to the time leaps, logical flaws and puzzled climax.
