And relationship with his love [Amala Paul] makes Raghu's life till he finally acquires a job and faces hurdles to withstand it. Watch VIP to see how Dhanush has overcome his problems...
Performance:
National Award winner Dhanush has gracefully done his role. Being heart of VIP, he has apparently kept audiences hooked with his action and comic timing. His bonding with Saranya Ponvannan and Amala Paul is lively.
Amala Paul fits the bill in girl next door character. Saranya Ponvannan at her regular best. Samuthirakani has been given ample space. He has delivered a dwell act as the father of an unemployed young-man.
Among others, Hrishikesh has done a good job. Villains were merely wasted to elevate Dhanush's heroism including Amitash as 'Amul Baby'.
Technical Analysis:
Successful directorial debut for DOP Velraj. He takes the credits for bringing back Dhanush to his winning phase and giving him a perfect break for his Silver Jubilee in Kollywood. Punch dialogues and performances take the lead in VIP, while predictable narration plays the spoil sport.
Anirudh Ravichander provided award winning music for Velai Illa Pattathari. It will be a special one in his career.
Technically, movie is high. Cinematography at its best and editing is crisp [2hrs 25mins running time].
Analysis:
Story and performance vise, VIP scores good. Velraj has to be appreciated for his choice of cast and crew for Velai Illa Pattathari, true thespians on board. The director should have concentrated more on the narration.
Comparatively, the second half of the movie appears bit low as the first half is technically and commercially laudable.
A true entertainer in Dhanush is back with a bang after Raanjhana and Mariyaan. Watch VIP for flawless act by Dhanush, Anirudh's music and dialogues with inevitable story line.
