Bhale Dongalu Review
by MyMazaa.comFilms with good entertainment values are always a welcome in Tollywood. It is well aware that 'Bunty Aur Babli' of Bollywood was a hilarious success and Bellamkonda Suresh got the opportunity to bag the remake rights of the movie.
However, he joined hands with Sakhamuri Panduranga Rao to bring out the film. Knowing fully well that Vijayabhaskar could deal with such entertainers, like 'Nuvve Kaavaali', 'Nuvvu Naaku Nachav' and 'Manmadhudu', they roped him in to wield the megaphone.
When it comes to characters, the director thought that the hero should be a familiar face but should not have a particular image. Tarun, who had no notable hits to his credit and who made his re-entry after a considerable gap, caught his attention.
In order to fill glamour in the film and give the audiences a feel that the film could be romantic, the producers had decided to rope in Ileana, though she reportedly demanded a fancy price. At the same time, Vijayabhaskar-Tarun combination also had a hit to their credit.
Ramu (Tarun) somehow completes his graduation, but doesn't want to do a job. Instead he favours to do some business, which his father (Chandramohan), who was a teacher, could not afford. He leaves his house to avoid yells from his father. On the other hand, Jyothi (Ileana) too escapes from her house, to avoid marriage against her wishes. They lose their luggage in the train and turn friends on platform. Both realise how hard it would be to stay away from house. In order to earn money they resort to cheatings and thefts. When they decide to stop the illegal activity, they come across an advertisement about a girl, whom they met a few days ago. Learning that she was suffering from a kidney disease and need at least Rs 9 lakhs for treatment. First they pay Rs 3 lakh from their pocket and decide to earn the remaining by hook or crook. In the process, they cheat a local mafia goon called Veerraju (Pradeep Rawat). As Ramu and Jyothi resort to thefts in the name of Romeo and Juliet, the government appoints DCP Yugandhar (Jagapatibabu) to catch them. How, Romeo and Juliet escape from the hands of goons and the police form part of the remaining story.
It was Vijayabhaskar's screenplay that worked well for the movie. The entire film was hilarious and Tarun and Ileana suited the best pair in the film.
Tarun showed excellent comedy timing while Ileana was quite chirpy and chivalrous all through the film. She showed excellent expressions in all the scenes.
The director portrayed her character in a romantic way and she was gorgeous in all kinds of costumes. Incidentally, the director did not treat her a glamour doll and did not allow her to do skin show but for a song. The entire story revolved around these two characters.
Jagapatibabu's gave a fantastic performance in a special role. It has its own style. Choreographers too caught the pulse of the director and canned the songs beautifully. Pradeep Rawat, Chandramohan, and others are at their usual best. While comedy by Brahmanandam and Dharmavarapu Subrahmanyam is adequate.
But for the entertainment, the film has nothing else to talk about. The story goes beyond logic, as stealing of costly articles from a showroom was not that easy these days, especially at a time, the entire world is being brought under electronic surveillance.
Music by KM Radhakrishnan is just okay and a couple of tunes are foot-tapping. The director should have shown a little more interest in doing the chase scenes. But for these shortcomings, the film is good to watch. Vijayabhaskar needs a pat on his back for his effort in giving a hit to Tarun.
