Vachadu Gelechadu Review

Story:

Jeeva (Jeeva) comes to Mumbai in search of a notorious don named Ramanna (Nandha). Finally he achieves his goal and gets a chance of meeting Nandha. Jeeva soon turns as a close supporter and reveals the reason behind his meeting. In fact he tells Ramana about his love story and how he fell for Anjali (Taapsee). He also conveys to Raman that his marriage with Anjali will only happen if he surrenders himself to the police. By knowing his demand Ramana supporters tries to kill Jeeva. The story gets a twist, when it is discovered that Jeeva and Ramanna are siblings. What did Ramana do on knowing Arjun is his brother? What is the link between Jeeva’s wedding and Ramana’s arrest? The rest of the part should be seen on big screen.

Performances:

Jeeva has given his best performance yet again. He blows your mind away with fine expression and impressive dialogue delivery. He had presented himself in larger-than-life image, thus ensuring few more female fans joins his fan club. The action scenes done by him are good.

Tapsee is a surprise package and she has shed some weight for her role when compared to earlier flicks. As an architect, she is wonderful in communicating her aspirations. She guarantees glamour quotient in the flick but her lip sync during few scenes went wrong.

Nandha is one of the assets in the film as he looked cool as underworld don. Undoubtedly he has done justice to his role.

Santhanam as usual has tickled the funny bones of the audience. The rest of the characters are okay and performed well.

Technicalities:

Director R Kannan has tried to give his but as the story progresses he had lost the grip over screenplay; the movie could have appealed the audience if the story has been novel. The presentation is not up to the mark.

PG Muthiah cinematography is good and his picturisation is one of the highlighting factor. He has beautifully captured the lead stars on his lens in songs.

Editing is okay while screenplay is good in bits and pieces, and offers some boring moments as well. Dialogues are well-written.

Music by Thaman is impressive. The background score is also apt. Production values of Venu Gopal are standard.

Analysis:

On a whole Kannan tried to lace action with romance but due to lack of novel script and taut screenplay, Vachadu Gelichadu failed to live upto the expectations. Though the first half of the film was handled well with romantic and love scenes, the second half and especially the climax played a spoilsport. The story moves on a predictable note which takes away the interest of the audiences and creates a kind of boredom. But then, the film has been handled well in parts. Over all, the film can be rated as average achiever.
