Nireekshana Movie Reviews

Nireekshana Review

There can be a lot said in favor of quickies and movies made on shoestring budgets.

But sometimes, speed and austerity can also go against a film. The second seems to have happened with Nireekshana, a film produced by veteran D Ramanaidu at a rapid pace.

Actually, the film is let down by a weak script even though the story, essentially a love theme, has some interesting turns.

For this the blame should land on the doors of the director Seetharam rather than on the producer.

Ravindra (Aryan Rajesh) is a vagabond kind of person who doesn't have much aim or focus in life and he is on the run from the police.

But as providence would have it, he lands in a farmhouse where a pretty young girl Anu (Sri Devi) is also lodged.

Her father (Naga Babu) keeps her there as because her father suspects that she is about to elope. In reality, she is just an innocent victim of a prank played by one of her friends.

So what happens now? Well, Ravindra wants to kidnap Anu. But it doesn't work. After some homilies and sermons, he unites the father and daughter.

The film actually has a good potential, as it is no run of the mill love story. The hero retains grey shade almost till the end. And there is also some fun element in the script.

But the film doesn't work mainly because there is no on screen chemistry between the lead pairs.

Though Aryan Rajesh and Sri Devi have come up with a decent performance, there is not much of fire between them. In the event, the film also becomes tepid like yesterday's souffle.

The comedy is of the risque kind, but the songs, though an imitation from long lost films, pass muster. Sri Lekha has managed a nice blend. The camera work of Sarath is also of high quality.

The director who has managed to get good work out of his team, has, however, not given his best. His efforts look stinted and uninspiring.

Nireekshana, despite some good promise, falters finally.
