Nenapirali Review

Director Rathnaja deserves full praise for making a fabulous film in the midst of violent, action and inconsequential films. Excellent photography, memorable music and lyrics, tidy screenplay, timely and apt dialogues and passable performance lift the film from what would have been a mediocre film.

Rathnaja joins the band of first time directors who made it big in Kannada cinema. But he has remained definitely different from others. For his own subject he has worked vigorously for the neat presentation of the film. The film has the shade of Nammura Mandhara Hoove, Chandramukhi Pranasakhi - triangle love story films. But where Rathnaja is outstanding is in his touching presentation of emotions by not going overboard. The watching of this film definitely leaves a strong impression that this is the best way of narrating the yesteryear tales.

Indhu (Vidya) and Bindu (Varsha) are sisters. Indhu is in love with business magnet Ekanth (Naveen Krishna). Ekanth is a big business magnet and he has no time to care for his fiancée. Indhu uses her brain and utter a lie that her parents are looking for someone for her marriage. Ekanath evolve with an idea and sends his friend Prakash (Premkumar) to pretend as Indhu's lover. He does so but Indhu somehow feels that she should have met Prakash first in her life. At this stage the friend indeed does the right thing from vacating the scene. The marriage of Indhu and Ekanath takes place. The business magnet Ekanath sends his friend Prakash to Mangalore to head the branch. This is exactly wanted by Prakash. In comes Bindu to prepare a project on administration to Mangalore. She stays in the family of Prakash works under him for her project. But before the completion of the project circumstances forces Prakash to accept Bindhu as his better half. Both of them fall in love later after deciding to get married. The tragedy strikes at this point of time. Ekanath in Bangalore dies of a car accident. The elders in the family compel Indhu to marry again. Indhu turns opportunist at this point of time and decided to accept Prakash. This is the bitter pill for Bindhu because she is in love with Prakash. The feelings in all the three - Prakash, Bindhu and Indhu shoot up. What is ultimate result. You have to watch this film in the theatres.

The first hero of the film is cameraman Ramachandra. The Bangalore, Mysore and Mangalore he has captured in his camera in a fabulous style. The first pleasant aspect of the film is cinematography. Then comes Hamsalekha the Ustaad. Five songs are very neatly composed. A song on Mysore, Drupadi€¦., Banigondu€¦., are memorable. Then the director flashes to your mind. Rathnaja has really worked hard and whatever he has told so far he has made it. The dialogues and screenplay technic adopted by him is a treat to watch.

Premkumar, Vidya and Varsha share the top honors of acting. The tall heroine Varsha in her debut has come out superb. She has been a promising actress. Vidya has shown her mettle in Chiguridha Kanasu and in this film she has been so precise and apt. Premkumar should change his style of dialogue delivery. Otherwise he has given a neat performance. Naveen Krishna is not that convincing. Ananthnag, Jai Jagdeesh rendered good support.

All the areas of a film making coming together - Nenapirali is a good example.
