This is a power packed cinema. This is the third version in south Indian language. After Okkadu and Gilli it is 'Ajay' hitting the screen literally. There are so many furious action scenes well executed. It is spine chilling, nerve racking and mind blowing. This is a must watch film by action lovers. For others there are very lovely tunes from Manisharma and adorable photography from Vasu. For the family audience there is a pinch of mother-son-sister-father bondage.
Producer Rockline Venkatesh has done the right thing before the start of the film. He has shown the clippings of Muhurut of 'Ajay' in which Dr.Rajkumar took part and after this the song from 'Bangaradha Manushya' was splashed for a few seconds. As the hands of Dr.Rajkumar goes up towards the sky it freezes and the banner of Rockline Venkatesh take off on screen. It is a good tribute at the right time.
It is a stiff competition between Puneeth and Prakash on screen. While Puneeth is a silent killer it is Prakash who uses the Hubli-Dharwad accent of Kannada in his dialogue delivery and gives a kicking moment. For serenity you have Anuradha Mehta who is like a cool breeze in the hot summer.
Hoping for win in the national Kbbadi championship trophy Ajay is in Hubli. In his early morning walk he finds a beautiful girl receiving torture on the busy road from demon like Prakash Rai. Ajay intervenes to set the girl free but he is made to use his power in front of already powerful Prakash Rai. The fist shot of Ajay shocks Prakash and then starts the rocking time for the action lovers. There is a chase, explosions and intelligence being played by Ajay before he escapes to Bangalore with the simple and humble girl Paddu (Anuradha Mehta).
Ajay is so clever he keeps Paddu in his house for sometime without the knowledge of his father who is a cop. When Prakash comes looking for his would be there is further more actions. On the other hand Ajay with the gang of his friends is making his own effort to send off Paddu to Australia as she is ready with Visa and passport. In the last minute he prepares for the final bout in Kabaddi game. It is victory everywhere for Ajay. In life he finds a profession, in personal life he gets a beautiful wife Paddu and he finishes of the strong opponent the rabble rouser Prakash Rai and his team.
This is a perfect film for the image built up by Puneeth in his last six films that have completed 100 days. Prakash Rai repeating his performance what he has done in Telugu and Tamil versions is the cynosure. His accent of Kannada suiting the North Karnataka areas is precise. His histrionics are marvelous. Anuradha Mehta in her maiden Kannada film is very promising. In one song Yen Chanda€¦, she gives the requirement of a heroine.
For this type of action extravaganza film the stunt director work is very important. Stun Shiva has shown exhilarating stunts.
