Thayiya Madilu Movie Reviews

Thayiya Madilu Review

This is a wholesome entertainer with very good elements. Wonderful story and screenplay, fine performance by superstar Shivarajkumar, Rakshita, Doddanna and Avinash, marvelous cinematography and admirable musical score €“ what else you require for your ticket price? Director S.Narayan although added a few debatable points in this well made 'Thayiya Madilu' has given a touching film for the family.

The poignant tale of Nandakumar (Shivarajkumar) is in the search of his mother. At the fag end of the interval he forces his step father (played by Doddanna) to reveal the whereabouts of his mother. Nanda comes to know about the existence of his mother in Mysore. He is not supposed to reveal that he is the son. He uses his brain to come very close to his real father. The situation is so delicate that he is not supposed to reveal that he is the son to his father. As he come close to his parents who are not aware that Nandakumar is their son the villain €“ uncle of Nandakumar try to usurp the entire property. But before this there is an interesting flash black that explains why Nandakumar was neglected after his birth by parents. The birth of a child will ruin the life of father is the speculation of astrologer. This is like the situation of Lord Krishna birth and Kamsa getting ready to destroy the child. But in this script there is an ulterior motive of an uncle of a protagonist.

Back home in the opulent house for the first time Nandakumar is offered a glass of milk by his mother and that has the poison. Both of them are not aware. The man behind this poison is Nandakumar's own father that is once again because of the astrological predictions. The uncle of Nandakumar knowing all these secrets makes use of the situation. Despite of poison slowly killing him Nandakumar bashes up his uncle and his goons. Nandakumar's father at this stage knows the true color of his brother. He comes forward to say that my son is more than the empire he has built. Now Nandakumar in the death bed is declared dead by the doctors. But the mother's affection and two drops of tears changes the whole gloomy situation.

Shivarajkumar reminds his father the icon Dr.Rajkumar in at least four places. The mother sentiment between him and Jayasudha is excellent. In dance and fights Shivarajkumar is electrifying. Jayasudha back on Kannada screen has given a convincing performance. It is Rakshita with her breezy performance, very fine looks, costumes and charm attracts. If she is planning to retire from acting she should not do so. She can accept a role of this type in her career.

Avinash, Doddanna and Shobaraj aptly suit in their supporting roles. Vinayaprakash who comes in a flash is impressive.

S.A.Rajkumar has allowed the lyrics to hear properly in three well scored tunes. Aparanji Aparanji€¦., song shot at Egypt is a treat to watch for Shivrajkumar fans. The graphic work done for this song and Nannavale Nannavale€¦.., takes the film to greater heights. Usireredha Devi Neena€¦.., a song on mother sentiment is superb.

Das is once again delectable in his cinematography. The outdoor especially of foreign locations are beautifully captured.

This is a film with sentiments, suspense, action and good songs which you cannot miss.
