Paruppu Urandai Kozhambu to mix with rice and have a go at. This dish can be made with Tamarind or with thick buttermilk. A very tasty stuff, it goes as a side-dish with Dosas too.

Preparation Method

  1. 01 Soak Gram Dal in Water for a couple of hours.
  2. 02 Grind it to a very coarse mix, adding Red Chilies, Fennel seed and 1/2 tsp Salt.
  3. 03 Make small lime sized balls from the mixture and steam them in idli plates in a pressure cooker.
  4. 04 Take a pan, heat Oil and add Mustard.
  5. 05 When the Mustard splutter, add the Onion and saute for a while.
  6. 06 Add Coriander Seedss powder, chilli and Turmeric Powderr powders and fry for few minutes adding Water.
  7. 07 Now add the steamed dal balls with this and cook for few minutes.
  8. 08 Grind the Coconut Grated with some Water to form a fine paste and add to the kozHambu.
  9. 09 Paruppu Urundai KuzHambu is ready to serve.
