Chana dal is also known as bengal gram. these lentils have a sweet and nutty taste. chana dal is got from black chickpeas (kala chana). they are spilt and the outer cover is removed. these lentils are also powdered to give besan or gram flour.

Preparation Method
- 01 Heat Oil in a heavy large vessel.
- 02 Add paste and stirfry for 2 minutes.
- 03 Add 3 cups Water and bring to a bOil.
- 04 Add all other ingredients, stir and bOil.
- 05 Simmer for 15-20 minutes, stirring occasionally.
- 06 Cook Till Oil separates, floats on top and chanare soft.
- 07 Check, add more Chilies or Garam Masala if desired.
- 08 Garnish with Onion
