Batata Vada is a popular Indian vegetarian fast food in Maharashtra, India. It literally means potato fritters. The name "Batata" means potato in English. It consists of a potato mash patty coated with chick pea flour, then deep-fried and served hot with savory condiments called chutney. The vada is a sphere, around two or three inches in diameter.

Preparation Method
- 01 BOil, cool, peel and mash the Potato and keep aside.
- 02 Make a paste of Ginger, Garlic and green Chilieses.
- 03 Prepare a thick Butter of Besan with Water, Red Chili Powder, Salt and Soda bi-carbonate. Heat a little Oil. add Ginger-Garlic-green Chilies paste.
- 04 Add mashed Potato and Turmeric Powderr powder and mix well.
- 05 Add chopped Coriander Seedss leaves and Salt to taste. Let the mixture cool. When cold, form Lemon sized balls.
- 06 Heat Oil in a kadai. Dip the Potato balls into the Besan batter and deep fry in hot Oil Till light golden brown.
- 07 Serve hot with chutney or sauce of your choice.
